DENNIS VANDERBROECK
Spatial Designer
Antwerp, Belgium/ Rotterdam, The Netherlands

Dennis Vanderbroeck is a Dutch spatial designer that designs and creates spatial installations - the word spatial refers to the design of commissioned set design and scenography related projects and the word installations to the in-house creation of installations for artistic purposes. With a focus on a hyper aesthetic visual language, Dennis designs and creates physical spaces in which a dialogue between the designed space and the visitor is key. Together with his team, he works on an international scale among various disciplines such as theater, fashion, fine art and music for clients as Y/Project, David Laport and Toneelgroep Oostpool, amongst others.

After finishing the Bachelor Performance Art at the Toneelacademie Maastricht (Theatre Academy) and a Master in Fine Art at Central Saint Martins in London, Dennis started working within several artistic disciplines in order to collect all the ingredients needed to officially establish Studio Dennis Vanderbroeck in 2015. “When looking back we (Dennis and his team) had so many inspiring encounters and intriguing collaborations. The moment where that magical translation takes place from a virtual design in a computer to reality is always a highlight.”

“FASHIONCLASH has been a fundamental part of my personal creative development. They allowed me their platform to try out and find my artistic voice - from performances, to presentations, creating a short film, from designing exhibitions and fashion shows - the beauty of creating a community.”

Dennis has participated in various projects of FASHIONCLASH as artist, performer and scenographer. He was one of the participants in the Clash Project in 2014, he took part in the Act! Cut! Play! fashion film project in 2016 and he has designed the scenography for Future of Fashion exhibition in Chengdu (China) in 2017.
