POViS was born in Lithuania in 1999, in 2010 they moved to Belgium and in 2018 started their Fashion Design Bachelor's at Willem de Kooning Academy. POViS' work focuses on the exploration and reflection on how fashion and aesthetics shape identity, particularly during times of political and economic transition. They have 2 flatbed knitting machines and 2 cats. Love uncanny, chronically online memes which inspire POViS to take their job with a sense of humour and light-heartedness.

The collection 'I hid from depression and corporate capitalism and made a collection about cats.' started with a Lithuanian riddle "The Hanger is hanging, the watcher is watching. If the hanger wouldn't hang then the watcher wouldn't watch. What is it?" (the answer being a cat and a piece of hanging meat) as a metaphor for the state of being. POViS could identify as this cat but instead of meat, they were staring at shiny magazine pages, fast-paced TikToks and multi-million budget photoshoots on Instagram. While having an urge to pave their own path in fashion landscape, the"pointless" desire for traditional acceptance in this so-called capital F fashion world still lurks in the back of mind.
