sAVE THE DATE:
fashionclash
festival 2026
From 13–15 November 2026, FASHIONCLASH Festival returns to Maastricht for its 18th edition. Taking place across various locations in the city, the international and multidisciplinary festival offers a platform to a new generation of designers, artists and performers from the Netherlands and abroad.
We proudly present the first campaign images for the 18th edition created by Hashim Nasr! The campaign brings together African and Middle Eastern cultural traditions through a surrealist and avant-garde visual language. Set against open landscapes and carefully staged environments, the images transform traditional symbols, clothing, rituals and objects into dreamlike narratives in which the boundaries between memory, mythology and contemporary identity blur.
By bringing together diverse cultural references in symbolic scenes, the campaign creates a space in which heritage is not only preserved but also reimagined. Through conceptual photography and carefully constructed visual narratives, it celebrates cultural connections while exploring themes of connection, transformation and collective imagination.
Developed by Sudanese visual artist and photographer Hashim Nasr, the campaign reflects FASHIONCLASH Festival's commitment to presenting diverse perspectives and creating space for new narratives.
Stay tuned for program announcements, campaign highlights and more. The full program will be announced after the summer.
Looking Back: TexTiles BlockParty
On 7 June 2026, participants, artists, partners and visitors gathered in Maastricht to celebrate the first full unveiling of TexTiles Tapestry. Through performances, fashion, music and shared experiences, the BlockParty brought together the many voices and stories woven into this evolving collective artwork.

WHAT THE PRESS SAYS
‘‘FASHIONCLASH delivered once again what has made it so wildly popular and appreciated amongst the fashion crowd, rising to become an international hot item in the calendar and a must for all those who love a good blend of controversy, entertainment, social engagement and groundbreaking fashion.’’
- Vogue Italy
“Since 2009 it has become something of a marker for the bleeding-edge of fashion design, letting participants imaginations’ run wild - and then presenting it all-in a fearlessly theatrical, thought-provoking manner. It includes crossover collaborations with theatre, art, performance, dance…all meant to forge a new cultural context and challenge the boundaries of our visual language.”
- BlackBook Magazine
“In a world fraught with extremism, tension and fears, FASHIONCLASH’s ambitious and democratic stance has become precious for anyone who’s interested in thinking of fashion outside the box.’’
- A shaded view on fashion

With Reflections on Fashion, on view at the Kunstmuseum Den Haag from 4 July 2026 to 3 January 2027, the museum takes a refreshing approach. Rather than allowing curators alone to tell the story of the Netherlands' largest fashion and costume collection, it invites a diverse group of designers, makers, writers, stylists and cultural voices to reinterpret it through their own perspectives.
