Das Leben am Haverkamp is a team composed of four designers, Anouk van Klaveren, Christa van der Meer, Dewi Bekker and Gino Anthonisse, all based in The Hague, The Netherlands. All four of them studied Textile & Fashion at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague and graduated in 2013 and 2014.

They draw their strength from their collaboration and like to be inspired by the in-between, the ambiguity and the grey areas. They also love “the quirky reality of daily life” and original objects that are hard to identify. Such small things help them create. Some of the characteristics of Das Leben am Haverkamp’s work are tuxedo-shaped garden cushions, masks with striped ears and wooden creatures on gold-plated wheels, for example.

They are currently running a project space in The Hague where they invite talented artists and designers in a square room and host exhibitions, dinners, screenings and bingos. They also choose an artist that will create with them: “The guest star joins the collective for a while – imagining and executing a big dream that fits the dimensions of the square room. Their sparks become part of Das Leben am Haverkamp, if only for a moment.” In the future, they would like to develop this even more.

Das Leben am Haverkamp are proud of the research they made with the audience of Zeeuws Museum in 2018 as well as the exhibition about the objects in the museum archives. The same year, they created the campaign images for the 10-year anniversary of FASHIONCLASH Festival - “The collaboration during the process was great, getting to know the FASHIONCLASH team and their favorite garments - and in 2019, each of them showed individual work in the New Fashion Narratives exhibition. “In each of these editions, we made new friends.”
