Flora Miranda

‘FASHIONCLASH, where creativity is the currency!’ These are the words of Flora Miranda, an Austrian designer based in Antwerp, where she graduated in Fashion Design at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in 2014. Immediately after graduating she started working at Iris Van Herpen - the only brand that matched her view, contributed to her skills and she could completely relate to; “I am eternally grateful for the opportunity I got and I have a big respect for the team’s work.”

The digital identity of humans is key to Flora’s work. She is exploring this topic through strong storytelling and the experimentation with new materials, shapes and aesthetics. That’s why Flora started her own brands, ‘Flora Miranda’ and ‘IT Pieces’; “IT Pieces is my vision for the fashion industry today.” Flora still dreams about the development and stimulation of sustainability, gender equality and technology. Sustainability is a big topic in her work and seeing a development in people having a conscious mindset makes her feel optimistic. 

Through participating in FASHIONCLASH Festival in 2015 and 2019, Flora was invited to present her master collection at Serbia Fashion Week, which opened various doors. She won several awards which enabled her to finance her first collection. Flora is grateful for the support and faith she has received. “One of the most beautiful things to me is if I can connect through creation.”
