IRIS DESIREE CLAESSENS
Designer
Eindhoven, 1992
Iris Claessens works on a combination of wearable jewelry and free work out of her Maastricht studio. She has previously participated in exhibitions and fairs with her work, including Object in Rotterdam and Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven. Her free work serves as inspiration for her wearable and custom-made golden jewelry: “Telling the story of what my work entails is very important to me. I create poetry in picture”.
Iris graduated in 2017 from the Maastricht Academy of Fine Art & Design (MAFAD) in Jewelry design and is one of the current participants of the Business Development Program of Fashion House.
“I think it’s very interesting to talk to multiple professionals, all of which have their own vision about my work. Because everyone works in a different discipline, they all have their own opinion on my work and on what I do. In the end it provides clarification in my own work and I am set to think about which way I want to go, and how I would like to profile myself as a designer.”
