Lotte Milder

Lotte Milder is a Dutch director, actress and performer from Utrecht, The Netherlands. After graduating from the Toneelacademie Maastricht in 2016, she continued developing her filmmaker/directing career by making her first short film “Iemand, niemand, 100.000”  together with her sister Karlijn Milder, as the director duo Milder Sisters. They received an award for Best Art Direction for this short film from Pinewood Studios in England. Lotte would like to develop herself further as a filmmaker and director, together with Karlijn but also would like to continue developing her acting skills.

Lotte participated in the 10th anniversary edition of FASHIONCLASH Festival in 2018 where Studio AKATAK and Scott Robin Jun collaborated on the concept, scenography, video projections, lightning design and performing arts line-up for the catwalk show. She also participated in FASHIONCLASH Festival in 2017, 2016 and 2015 as a performer. “For me FASHIONCLASH was a platform during my studies but after I graduated the platform also gave me the first stage to present and develop myself, both as a performer and actress during the shows and as a director of the show concept in 2018. Besides that, it was also one of the first places where I could experiment on how to create a live performance as an interdisciplinary artist and work with visuals and space, together with my team.” 

In the context of a memorable FASHIONCLASH moment, Lotte would say her interview with designer Jacqueline Loekito in 2018 about her predominantly pink collection is a moment she holds dear. “I love men to wear pink!” - A peculiar, simple, yet funny statement that shows the breaking through of [fashion] borders of FASHIONCLASH and the participating designers in a simple way.  Lotte wishes for a world with more equality and love. This is the vision she has for the future; in this future Lotte and Karlijn would like to see themselves at the premiere of the first feature film of the Milder Sisters.
