MIEKE KOCKELKORN
Costume Designer
Heerlen, 1976

After completing her studies in Cultural Sciences at Maastricht University in 2000, Mieke Kockelkorn decided to continue studying at the Academie voor Beeldende Kunst in Maastricht. She graduated in Fashion Design in 2004 and subsequently worked for a long time as a costume designer for Opera Zuid in Maastricht. Since 2014 she has been working as an independent costume designer and works for projects such as Sally Dansgezelschap MaastrichtNederlandse Dansdagen and Karmijnrood. In 2015 she created the costume for the campaign image of FASHIONCLASH Festival.

“FASHIONCLASH has helped me enormously by giving me assignments. These assignments have led to collaborations with new parties and through these new collaborations I have been able to establish myself as an independent costume designer.” Mieke has collaborated many times with choreographer Martin Harriague and the Malandain Ballet in Biarritz. “In 10-years-time, I am hopefully still collaborating with Martin Harriague and we can continue to create many high-quality dance productions that take a critical look on humanity.”

Mieke is one of the participants of the Business Development Program from Fashion House.
