Steve Iseger

STEVE ISEGER
Film maker
Heerlen, 1981

It’s not an obvious route Steve took in his career. Although he obtained his master’s degree in private law in 2014 at Maastricht University, he never decided to work in a law firm. During his studies he already knew he wanted to do something more creative and started making videos. In 2017 he went to the New York Film Academy to follow a course in filmmaking to expand his skills.

Steve’s passion lies within fashion. The moment he decided to focus on fashion films is an important step in his career “I used to film all kinds of videos – from weddings to a video for the municipality.” At that time, I didn’t have any relevant fashion work to show, so I created a passion project named ‘Allure’ in Paris. It was the first time that I felt like I could truly express my creativity and style”. Steve created many other films and clips since then and he worked on the coolest locations such as a deposited part of the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, an empty city of Rome at 03:00 AM and a rooftop in New York. “But ‘Allure’ still is the achievement I am most proud of.”

Steve also contributed on various FASHIONCLASH-projects, such as the Fashion Makes Sense Award, Dress to Protest and he created a series of video portraits for participants of the Christmas Designer Pop Up Store, called Meet the Designer. “FASHIONCLASH has given me the opportunity to work with talented (young) designers, both local and abroad – that’s what I enjoy the most”. And if you ask Steve about any inside information about FASHIONCLASH he is very clear: “If you take part in FASHIONCLASH Festival, you shouldn’t skip the afterparty – it’s very cool! ;)”
