La Mia Luce
Directed by Gina Siliquini
La mia luce follows a young Limburgian-Italian woman who travels to the coastal village in Italy where her father was born. Raised in a working-class family in Limburg, where labour outweighed dreaming, she gradually became disconnected from herself. In Italy, she is confronted with a landscape that feels both unfamiliar and deeply rooted in her past.
By the sea—long a symbol of freedom, calm, and an unfulfilled sense of home for both her and her father—she begins to reconnect with her inner world. Through solitude and quiet encounters with a postman, a fisherman, and a clown, she learns to recognize the beauty of the everyday and the significance of small moments.
La mia luce is a poetic short film about identity, freedom, and the transformative power of returning to one’s origins.
