The Survivors
Directed by Naranjargal Enkhbat
The Survivors explores the period of severe political repression under the communist regime in Mongolia during the late 1930s. The Stalinist purges were responsible for destroying monasteries, arresting, executing, and imprisoning thousands of Buddhist monks, intellectuals, and political figures. As many families suffered and lost loved ones, it continues to shape the nation’s historical memory today.
