Based on experiences of female suffering, ‘COIL’ represents a spiral that endures weight and pressure. Through distortion and rawness, the process of enduring tension gains an active embodiment as it captures the friction between resistance and collapse. With ‘COIL’, Laures is refunctioning stereotypes around gender performance into methods of restriction, exposing the strain behind the battle for autonomy.
