On Saturday, 15 November at 16:00, a Designer Talk moderated by Nora Veerman brings the designers together to discuss their creative practices, approaches to innovation, and the role of sustainability in contemporary fashion.
Nora Veerman is a freelance fashion journalist, critic and researcher, with a focus on (self)making culture, sustainability and the sensory and emotional dimensions of clothing.
KINKLEID, founded in Maastricht by Cristina Palacios, is a creative research studio that bridges science, design, and activism. Through projects on sustainable textile materials and circular processes, KINKLEID fosters dialogue and advocates for a more responsible and resilient fashion ecosystem.
Jef Montes presents work from his acclaimed Marinero collection, developed in collaboration with TextielLab Tilburg and international partners. His creations merge advanced textile technology with poetic storytelling, exploring transformation and identity. Together with drag artist Hadi Moussally, he created the film Abjad Hawaz—a visual performance blending body, language, and pride—also featured in the Fashion Film Program at Lumière Cinema.
Studio Wolfs, founded by Maastricht-based designer Isabel Wolfs, connects sport, streetwear, and footwear design through material experimentation and circular thinking. Her project Motion Manipulation celebrates the power and expression of women in sports, offering a fresh perspective on movement, identity, and freedom through innovative upcycling techniques.

Tijdens FASHIONCLASH Festival 2025 vormt Townhouse Hotel Maastricht een inspirerende locatie waar innovatie, duurzaamheid en design samenkomen. Je kunt hier werk zien van drie vooruitstrevende ontwerpers: Jef Montes, KINKLEID en Studio Wolfs. Elk van hen onderzoekt op eigen wijze de toekomst van mode – van experimentele materialen tot maatschappelijk engagement.
Op zaterdag 15 november om 16.00 uur vindt hier de Designer Talk plaats, gemodereerd door journalist Nora Veerman, waarin de ontwerpers in gesprek gaan over hun creatieve praktijk, innovatie en de rol van duurzaamheid binnen hedendaagse mode.
KINKLEID, gevestigd in Maastricht, is een creatief onderzoeksatelier opgericht door Cristina Palacios. Vanuit een combinatie van wetenschap, design en activisme ontwikkelt KINKLEID projecten rond duurzame textielmaterialen en circulaire processen. Met haar praktijk bouwt Palacios aan een eerlijker en veerkrachtiger textielsysteem en creëert ze ruimte voor dialoog tussen makers en onderzoekers.
Jef Montes presenteert werk uit zijn bekroonde collectie Marinero, ontwikkeld in samenwerking met TextielLab Tilburg en diverse internationale partners. Zijn ontwerpen combineren innovatieve textieltechnologie met poëtische verbeelding, waarin thema’s als transformatie, identiteit en vrijheid centraal staan. In samenwerking met dragkunstenaar Hadi Moussally creëerde hij de film Abjad Hawaz, waarin lichaam, beweging en taal samensmelten tot een visuele performance over zelfexpressie en trots. Deze film is tevens te zien binnen het Fashion Film Program bij Lumière Cinema.
Studio Wolfs, opgericht door de Maastrichtse ontwerper Isabel Wolfs, verbindt sport, streetwear en schoenontwerp met een focus op materiaalonderzoek en circulariteit. Met haar project Motion Manipulation eert ze de kracht en expressie van vrouwen in de sportwereld. De capsulecollectie toont innovatieve toepassingen van upcycling en plooitechnieken, en nodigt uit tot een herwaardering van beweging, identiteit en vrijheid binnen mode.
