The CLASH House is a trajectory & showcase for an innovative new generation of designers exploring the intersection between fashion and performing arts. Participants are challenged to experiment with presentation formats where storytelling, immersive experiences, and inclusivity serve as key themes.
The CLASH House is part of FASHIONCLASH Festival (14-16 November 2025) and features five performances. The initiative aims to contribute to the renewal of fashion as a discipline while creating unique experiences for the audience. Each performance will be co-directed and produced by FASHIONCLASH.
In both 2023 and 2024, short documentaries were created to capture the trajectory, including insights and experiences from participants, coaches, and performers.
Coaching trajectory
FASHIONCLASH provides each selected participant for The CLASH House with a coaching trajectory leading up to their final presentation at FASHIONCLASH Festival 2025. You will be assigned 2 coaches with backgrounds in theatre-making and movement/dance (names to be announced in due time). This gives you ample space to develop an interdisciplinary showcase. A total of 5 participants will be selected.
The coaching trajectory includes:
An online kick-off meeting with all participants and both coaches;
A maximum of 6 coaching sessions (30 minutes per session);
An online group presentation where you present your final concept;
An online one-on-one technical production meeting.
Participation in all events within the coaching trajectory is required. For the coaching sessions, you will create a time schedule in consultation with the coach(es).
Phases throughout the trajectory
Phase 1: Coaching & Development (May- September 2025)
This phase begins with coaching sessions and concept development for your performance. By the end of this phase, you will provide PR materials (images and texts), performer preferences, and hair/makeup inspiration for your performers.
Phase 2: Coaching & Production Preparation (September-November 2025)
Coaching sessions continue during this phase. You will present your final performance concept in an online group update presentation (approximately 5 minutes). Physical casting moments for performers, organized by FASHIONCLASH, also take place during this phase. Your preferences as delivered in Phase 1 will be considered during the casting moments. An online one-on-one (technical) production meeting will cover all practical details for your performance. FASHIONCLASH will provide basic technical support. If you have specific requirements, please mention these in your initial application.
Phase 3: Presentation at FASHIONCLASH Festival 2025
Your performance will be presented on Friday, 14 November 2025 in Maastricht (exact time and location to be determined). Each performance has a maximum length of 5 minutes and will be followed by a short on-stage conversation between you and the host. You should be available for rehearsals throughout the day. An online evaluation with FASHIONCLASH is also included in this phase.
