TexTiles: The first reveal after a series of workshops

Last Thursday was the reveal of the TexTiles that have been made up until this point! Together with the workshop participants we have managed to create over 60 TexTiles!

Enough to cover Plein 1992? Not at all! That means we aim to continue with the TexTiles workshop. Would you like to host a TexTiles workshop in your (after) school, company, or elsewhere? Feel free to get in touch via info@fashionclash.nl and we will get back to you with additional information!

TexTiles is a community art project in which you portray your view or vision of Europe in a textile tile. The TexTiles are based on the dimensions (40 x 40 cm) of the tiles of Plein 1992, the square in front of Centre Céramique that is named after the Maastricht Treaty - officially the Treaty on European Union, which was signed on 7 February 1992 and served to establish the European Union. This, among other things, concluded the arrival of the euro as the single currency in a number of European countries. The paving of the square contains tiles with the € sign, alternating with the year 1992.

The goal is to make as many TexTiles as possible during TextTiles workshops and eventually as much of Plein 1992 can be covered. Each textile tile represents a personal story, opinion or vision about Europe!

TexTiles is a collaboration between FASHIONCLASH, Centre Céramique, Maastricht Museum and Studio Europa.
