Julia Mazur
CROSSMAN
Julia Mazur is a multidisciplinary designer from Poland working at the intersection of sculpture, movement, fashion, and performance. She creates sculptural garments that bring several people together into a single, human-like form. Made from wood, metal, and fabric, the pieces come to life through movement and performance. By working exclusively in black, she shifts the focus away from decoration and towards the relationship between bodies, garments, and movement.
‘CROSSMAN’ is a performative sculpture for four people that explores how bodies can become physically entangled. Instead of designing clothes for one body, Mazur created a large sculptural garment worn and moved in by several people at once. As they move, the piece changes shape and creates new ways for the bodies to interact. It explores how clothing can restrict and transform the body, while blurring the boundaries between fashion, sculpture, performance, and wearable art.
