FLESH AS CURRENCY
Justin Jacob is an artist and designer seeking to understand how contemporary technologies, social structures, and digital spaces shape the way we perceive bodies, identity, and desires. Driven by new influences and material experiments, his creations combine fashion, textile objects, photography, and digital explorations, translating complex ideas into tangible forms.
‘FLESH AS CURRENCY’ explores how digital platforms shape the way we see the body, desire, and visibility. Using anonymous Grindr profiles as categories, the project turns digital desires into physical forms. Bodies are reduced to visual types and desires, which are then translated into posthuman garments through distortion, abstraction, and material experimentation. The project highlights the tensions between intimacy and objectification, asking what happens when human bodies become data, images, and currency within digital spaces.
