Known as The Queen of Candy Floss, Martijntje Cornelia is a visual artist using sugar as a material for sculpture, installations, and performance. Her works transform through humidity, gravity, and time: soft forms collapse, crystallise, disappear, or leave traces behind. She embraces transformation as a part of existence.

‘Melt Into Me, Sweet Rot’ is a transformative sculptural installation. Starting as a soft, seductive, and almost bodily form, humidity, gravity, and time shape the airy sugar sculpture. As the transformation becomes unpredictable and visible, the installation explores what happens when something designed to seduce refuses to remain perfect or controlled. What begins as an excessive sugary body slowly becomes its own residue.
