Everything but, the spectacle
Özgür Deniz Koldaş is a graphic designer and visual artist aiming to blur the lines between printed matter, typography, installation, and publishing. Interested in fashion and visuals, he questions the positioning of the images we consume. Özgür’s work re-contextualises the digital gaze as a refuge from the flux, where pixels are upcycled, democratised, and rendered personal.
‘Everything but the Spectacle’ is an artwork that explores the runway, democratisation, screenshots, and the concept of the spectacle within a compact space. Concerned with its own making and becoming, the work turns its attention to the spectacle itself: its surroundings, passe-partout, visitors, and the critiques that emerge around it. In doing so, the work reflects on how contemporary consumer culture and media increasingly mediate, reproduce, and replace lived experience.
