Emma Magermans

Raveille

Emma Magermans is a fashion designer from Maastricht and a recent graduate of the Amsterdam Fashion Institute. Driven by a deep appreciation for fashion and a fascination with creativity and craftsmanship, she developed a passion for fashion design from an early age.

Her work explores the balance between a bold, contemporary visual language and a refined attention to detail, materiality, and craft. Emma approaches fashion as more than an aesthetic expression, aiming to create pieces that carry meaning, evoke curiosity, and tell a story.

At the core of her practice lies an instinctive desire to create and explore. She embraces the design process as an essential part of her work, allowing initial ideas to evolve through research, experimentation, and making. From concept to final form, each stage becomes an opportunity to discover unexpected possibilities and shape a distinctive design language.

‘RAVEILLE’ explores the traditions and communal celebrations of South Limburg through a contemporary “bubbly heritage” lens. Growing up in Mheer, Emma experienced community as something joyful and natural. Only after moving away did she realise how special and meaningful this sense of belonging truly is.

The collection transforms elements of local traditions, associations, and regional dress into playful, contemporary silhouettes. Familiar symbols and forms are reimagined rather than simply preserved. ‘RAVEILLE’ presents heritage as something alive and evolving: carried by communities, shaped by new generations, and continuously worn, shared, and brought to life.
