Isa Hazelager
RESILIENCE
Isa Hazelager is a queer, feminist, cruelty-free artist and designer. With her brand Punk Princess, she creates colourful, confronting, and highly expressive pieces. Her world is one of contrasts, balancing vibrant, explosive colours with a creepy, punk-edged aesthetic.
Beyond her brand, she collaborates with performers and theatre collectives to design custom, narrative-driven statement pieces. Mixing crochet, knitwear, and sewing, she constructs bold, recognisable silhouettes with feminist influences that tell a story. Her creative process is inseparable from her values. She works exclusively with reused materials, showing that fashion and performance design can be radically gentle on the planet.
Not a pig, but ‘spareribs’, ‘bacon’, and ‘hamburger’. Not a woman, but ‘tits’, ‘ass’, and ‘sexy’. In this performance, Isa shows the parallels between the exploitation of animals and the oppression of women. Where does objectification end and consumption begin?
By questioning our current relationship with animals, food, nature, and the female body, she challenges us to rethink our worldview. What if we moved from a blood culture to a plant culture? From killing to growing? We could shift from objectifying bodies to appreciating life itself—turning our perspective towards community and living peacefully with nature and all living beings.
