Jamie AirMountain
ALOHA Wijk aan Zee
Jamie AirMountain grew up on the beach of Wijk aan Zee, where his parents ran a beach restaurant called ALOHA. That place shaped him with constant pirates roleplays, surfing, exploring bunkers, watching bands perform, and collecting treasures washed ashore by the sea. Collecting has always been part of Jamie. Recycling is one of the foundations of his artistry. It’s raw, authentic, and wearable, rooted in the stories and culture around my life at the beach of Wijk aan Zee.
The graduation collection ‘ALOHA Wijk aan Zee’ tells the story of the beach Jamie AirMountain grew up on. It’s about living on and with the sea: the flags, bunkers, waves, surfers, and all the chaos that comes with it. The collected materials from the beach — trash, wood, wetsuits, denim, old flags — and transformed into garments layered with stories. Each piece is a character, patched together, carrying its own story. The collection celebrates the beach culture but also points to the mess we leave behind, making fashion from what already exists instead of creating more waste.
