The Invicible

Alyne Li & Qiyun Zheng

Following the third edition of the FASHIONCLASH Fashion Film Bootcamp that took place in April, the two winning teams started to shoot their fashion short films which were previously pitched with a budget of €5500 and under a guidance of a film maker Hadi Moussally. With the funding and professional mentorship, the winning creatives explored the clash between fashion and film, as well as all the whole production and technicalities of a making a film.

The Invicible is a multidisciplinary co-creation where fashion design is developed with the moving body in mind. The characters are inspired by the villains of martial arts cinema, taking on a journey through the cycle of the five elements. Blending traditional Chinese fashion elements and theatrical skills with a futuristic, queer perspective, the film searches for a way to carry cultural heritage forward into a hybrid, transformative, and ever-evolving context.
