Anna Strengers

BOUND TO THIS BODY

Anna Strengers is a recent AMFI Fashion Design graduate, currently working primarily with latex. Throughout her work, her fascination with the human body and the complex combination of shame, desire, and vulnerability surrounding it has been a constant source of inspiration. Referencing fetishism and sexuality, she aims to find a space between eroticism and discomfort, questioning the stigma surrounding these themes.

Since learning to work with latex, she has continued to return to the material, combining it with materials such as hair, fur, and a variety of fabrics. Through these combinations, she explores the body and the ways in which we perceive it.

Drawing inspiration from queer nightlife, BDSM, and fetish communities, ‘BOUND TO THIS BODY’ invites you into a world where conventions are left behind, where we become bodies driven by eroticism, sensuality, lust, tenderness, fetishism, pain, and pleasure. Here, the individual body no longer exists; it is taken apart and strung back together. It is transformed into fragments of a collective desire to transcend the boundaries between self and other.
