INTERLOOM

Josquin Fromangé is a French designer-craftsman based in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. He currently works with used inner bike tubes, embracing upcycling and giving discarded materials a new life. Josquin prioritises doing over thinking, allowing intuition to play a central role in his work. His creative practice is inspired by unpredictable environments, where adaptability is valued over control. This has led to his interest in creating adaptable wearable accessories that can respond to the needs of different wearers.

The ‘INTERLOOM’ collection combines utility with making a statement by exploring how a material that has lost its original purpose can be given a new function. Using a weaving technique, pieces of inner tubing are transformed into adaptable accessories to which modules such as pouches can be added or removed according to personal needs. By repurposing discarded inner tubes and giving them adaptable properties, the work reflects on how evolution and change are essential to growth and the shaping of individuality.
